Brands Worth Watching
Following up on our July Lookbook, we wanted to further explore the fashion of the summer through specific labels. I have had the hardest time finding good clothing picks online and instead have been finding most of my clothing vintage, designer, or in boutiques. So I have been on the search for quality brands that can be a staple in your wardrobe now and in the future. Here are the 10 brands you will fall in love with this summer.
1. Reformation
Reformation is the brand I’m currently obsessed with. Between being sustainable and SO stylish, I am in love with this brand. It has a wide range of casual and formal clothing, which makes it perfect for summer 2022. Particularly, I am in love with their selection of maxi dresses (so dainty and beautiful, especially the floral maxis!) and bodysuits (super comfortable and practical).
2. Djerf Avenue
If you don’t know who Matilda Djerf is, do you really like fashion? Essentially, she is a style icon. Her brand, Djerf Avenue, has perfect essentials for the warm weather. Lots of linens, florals, and coastal-grandmother-chic! She had a pop-up in LA last month with tons of apparel and a beautiful floral shop design.
3. Miaou
Miaou is the epitome of trendy right now. Miaou had a ton of appearances in Euphoria season 2 this winter, if you want to dress like Maddy, Cassie, or Lexi, this is the brand for you. There are a lot of funky graphics, sets, mini skirts, and corsets, which are all trendy in and of itself.
4. Aritzia
Aritzia has been a staple brand all year long, but its summer pieces are especially to die for. I am in love with their TNA collection, which is all of their activewear, including biker shorts, athletic sets, and tennis skirts. Aritzia has singlehandedly brought athleisure back in style for this summer.
5. Siedres
Siedres is truly a hidden gem. Its summer collection is full of color, vibrance, and prints, and has a European flair to it because it is a Turkish brand with a so-called “Mediterranean sensibility.” I love their crochet work, which is very “in” lately.
6. Alo
Alo is both a source of great style and fitness, making me love it even more. Offering fitness and yoga classes and having amazing wear & accessories for fitness and leisure are big pluses for me. I especially adore the fun prints they offer their sets in, such as plaid or gingham.
7. Doen
The big trend this summer is “coastal grandmother” which entails of a lot of linens, florals, blue and white tones, and wholesome clothing. Doen has perfect clothing for this trend. Particularly, Doen’s flowy dresses are essential for any vacation this summer.
8. Sezane
Sezane is a bohemian dream. This label is a hidden gem, born and made in Paris. Their pieces are very creative, using a variety of colors, prints, and styles. On their website, you can find things like a formal blue ruffle dress ready for a night out or a casual colorful crochet tank top ready for the beach!
9. Cult Gaia
Let me start off by saying that Cult Gaia is very expensive $$$. It is not a shop for everyday wear or basic pieces. However, if you are looking for a designer piece to stand out in your wardrobe, Cult Gaia has a lot of elegant pieces that I adore. I especially love their use of linens in formal outfits, such as pantsuits, sets, or dresses. I also love their use of gold as an accent in formal pieces and accessories.
10. Revolve
Okay, yes, Revolve is technically a retailer. However, I’m unapologetically a huge Revolve fan, so I couldn’t not put it on here. Between its amazing aesthetic, wide range of labels, and the famous Revolve fest that shaped Spring fashion, it is undeniably one of the best places to shop online. It has all of the big trends while also having basics and staples, making it the perfect go-to for any summer, or all year long, occasion.
